The Swedish Armed Forces/Naval Base is looking for a Production Planner for Infrastructure

For the Local Planning Unit South (LplE South) based in Linköping.

About the Unit

LplE South is the Swedish Armed Forces' representative towards the Fortifications Agency, which is the state’s representative for defense properties. The geographical area of responsibility for LplE South is the military region south (MR South), which includes Östergötland, Småland, Öland, Blekinge, and Skåne. The unit is undergoing growth and reorganization, with three geographically divided departments being established by 2026.

The Swedish Armed Forces have the task of defending Sweden on land, at sea, and in the air, as well as supporting society in various types of crisis situations. This places demands on various forms of infrastructure (land, facilities, and premises), and the conditions for each individual project will therefore differ and contribute to an exciting everyday life.

The Position Offers

As a production planner, you are expected to lead both individual employees and various types of workgroups with the goal that the unit's assigned projects have effective and correct progress. Collaboration occurs both within and between the support authorities of the Swedish Armed Forces.

You should be able to take responsibility for a variety of cases and represent the unit towards higher staff.

Main Responsibilities

The position/role involves a coordination responsibility for the unit's assigned tasks within procurement, decommissioning, and maintenance of land and premises in part of the region, and thus the task of leading 5-10 individuals with different competencies within construction and property management.

  • Lead and support within the framework of the authorities' processes and follow up projects primarily regarding time and cost.
  • Prepare cases for decision at LplE and FM Headquarters and make decisions on direction and pace of progress in individual projects in collaboration with higher staff.
  • Administer and update databases and manage orders and decision-making materials in the FM case management system.
  • Be prepared to drive or participate in projects within the framework for the development of the function internally in the unit as well as in the Armed Forces as a whole.
  • Educate within the subprocess both internally in the unit and for other actors within the authority.
  • Travel in service may occur.

You will have an active role in the department and will represent the Swedish Armed Forces against external authorities and companies. On behalf of both branches of the armed forces and headquarters, it must be ensured that the department translates the requirements set by the operations into completed decision-making and ordering materials that can be handed over to the Fortifications Agency and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration as a basis for production. In times of growth, it is important that we work on the right things in the right way. The Swedish Armed Forces are undergoing growth, which may affect and change responsibilities and roles.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • University degree in construction and civil engineering, architecture, or other competencies deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience in coordination responsibility, project management, or supervisory roles.
  • Experience in handling within an authority.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing.
  • Driver's license B.

  • Constructive teamwork: Collaborates effectively with others; shares knowledge, experiences, and information; supports others in striving to achieve common goals.
  • Organizational awareness: Understands that the Armed Forces, as a government authority, has formal and informal rules and structures; and the application and compliance with these are essential for interaction within the authority. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' organization and internal processes.
  • Experience as an object manager.
  • Familiarity with property, construction law, and environmental legislation.

Employment type: Permanent, the Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

The overall task of the Naval Base is to support the naval units with logistics such as transportation, basing, surveillance, and medical care, both at home and abroad. The Naval Base has its headquarters in Karlskrona but operates where needed, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Naval Base include monitoring Sweden's 2700 km long coastline with territorial waters.
